The Joffrey Workshop does not have a permanent location. We bring professional dance education directly to studios nationwide and across the globe.
The Joffrey Workshop is not a dance school. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year based on demand and availability, serving as supplemental events to enhance existing dance programs.
Students do not need to audition. We recommend that students who participate take at least three technique classes per week, though that is not a requirement.
Student Workshops are geared towards students ages 10-18, unless otherwise listed.
Workshops typically span two to three days, with classes lasting 4.5 hours each day.
We focus on concert dance techniques - Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theater, Pre-Pointe/Pointe, Arpino Repertoire, and Contemporary Ballet. Schedules can be customized by the host to meet the needs of the students. Click on a workshop location to see what classes are being offered.
Ballet, Arpino Repertoire, Variations, and similar classes:
Option 1: Plain black leotard. Convertible pink/skin tone tights. Pink/skin tone ballet shoes. Pink/skin tone pointe shoes if applicable.
Option 2: White, grey, or black slim fitting shirt. Black or grey convertible tights or leggings. White socks and white ballet shoes, or black socks and black ballet shoes.
Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theater, Contemporary Ballet, and similar classes:
All Dancers: White, grey, or black top. Black leggings, or black slim fitting athletic pants, or convertible black tights. Jazz shoes and bare feet will be utilized.
Except for Joffrey Workshop merchandise, logos, prints, and large graphics are discouraged and should be kept to a minimum.
No costumes will need to be purchased.
Students may register for a workshop and not attend the entire event. Students may not skip classes within a day. We recommend not missing the first day of an event as this is the time the instructors get to know the students and begin teaching combinations that may be worked on the following days. Instructors are not responsible for re-teaching information that was missed due to absence.
Refunds will be granted if a workshop is cancelled by The Joffrey Workshop. A credit for a future workshop will be given if a student is unable to attend for any reason. A workshop may be rescheduled in the event that the Joffrey Workshop teachers experience travel delays. A partial refund will be provided if a full program cannot be delivered.
The Joffrey Workshop strongly recommends leaving devices at home and is not responsible for loss or damage.
